SUNCAP Program
Verified Β· October 23, 2026 Deadline soon β check dates
SUNCAP was a special food assistance program for Floridians who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). DCF states the program ended September 30, 2026, and that during the phase-out from October 2026 through March 2027, current recipients move to the regular Food Assistance (SNAP) program β the Social Security Administration no longer decides food-assistance eligibility for SSI households in Florida. If you were on SUNCAP, your first step is to make sure your regular SNAP case is in place through DCF.
Good to know: the quickest way to apply for regular food assistance is online through the MyACCESS portal; DCF can also help at 850-300-4323. Do not wait for a gap in benefits to check your case.
