Head Start / Early Head Start

This is the front door to Episcopal Children's Services Head Start and Early Head Start across Duval County: free early learning for low-income families — Head Start full-day classes for ages 3–5, and Early Head Start full-day, year-round care for pregnant women and children from birth to age 3. Apply online through the 'Apply to Head Start or Early Head Start Here' link on the program page, or call the Baypine Road office at (904) 726-1500.

Good to know: not sure which center fits? Start here or by phone — ECS will route you to the site with openings near your home instead of you calling a dozen centers.

Free early learning for young children from families with low incomes. Head Start is full-day, center-based learning for children ages 3–5. Early Head Start is full-day, year-round care for pregnant women and children from birth to age 3, in centers and in home-based settings. Children also get health, dental, vision and hearing screenings, meals and snacks, and support for disabilities, and families get parenting and health/financial literacy workshops.
