Emerson Head Start / Early Head Start

The Emerson Street center runs Episcopal Children's Services Head Start (ages 3–5) and Early Head Start (pregnant women and children birth to age 3) — free early learning for families with low incomes on the Southside. Family Advocates Cathy Wilson and Destiny Mims take applications at 904-674-6212; ECS central is (904) 726-1500.

Good to know: Early Head Start here is full-day and year-round — built for working parents of babies and toddlers, not a school-calendar program.

A Head Start and Early Head Start center run by Episcopal Children’s Services, listed on ECS’s official Duval County flyer. Head Start is free early learning for children ages 3–5 from families with low incomes; Early Head Start serves pregnant women and children from birth to age 3. Children get meals and snacks and health, dental, vision and hearing screenings.
