8th Street Head Start / Early Head Start

This Episcopal Children's Services center on West 8th Street runs both Head Start (free early learning for ages 3–5) and Early Head Start (pregnant women and children from birth to age 3), for families with low incomes. It is free — meals and family support come with it. Start with the center's Family Advocates, Christina Brown and Yvette Baker, at 904-674-6212, or ECS centrally at (904) 726-1500.

Good to know: this is one of the few centers serving BOTH age bands — if you have a baby and a preschooler, one application conversation can cover both children.
