The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP) helps households with at least one person age 60 or older in the home through a documented heating or cooling emergency, providing energy assistance for the electric bill. Gross household income must be equal to or less than 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. For more information, call 630-CITY (904-630-2489).
Good to know: the paperwork rules are strict โ Social Security cards for all household members and photo IDs must be originals (no copies), not expired, and with the correct address. You will also need recent income documents for all family members age 18 and older.
